Hayden Currie grew up on a sheep farm in New Zealand before receiving his Bachelor of Design with honours from Massey University of Wellington. After graduation, he pursued his dream of making comics and supported himself working as a billsticker. He currently resides in San Francisco.

His work has appeared in numerous publications and venues in Wellington and San Francisco, including a mural in Clarion Alley. He is also the curator of WORD, a 50-page book of wordless picture-stories, with contributions from seven other visual artists.

When he’s not making comics, he is a freelance illustrator for various clients, such as Pinot’s Palette, Transnational Institute, Aotearotica, and Shannon and The Clams.
